Royal Coach Palace Postage Stamps 2009
Horse-drawn carriages were introduced to Thailand during the early Rattanakosin Period. However, they were not very popular due to their high cost so they were used only by kings and high ranking members of the royal family. The carriages that appear on these stamps are those used during the reign of King Chulalongkorn and King Vajiravudh. They are semi-hooded vehicles, vehicles without canopies, carriages with canopies and hooded carriages as well. This is truly a beautiful collection of stamps from Thailand! |
